Qatar Airways Cargo is excited to announce its latest collaboration with Xiamen Airlines, marking a significant milestone as the first Chinese airline to operate non-stop passenger flights between Mainland China and Qatar. This partnership will provide Qatar Airways Cargo with added belly cargo capacity for shipments to and from Mainland China.
As part of this cooperative agreement, Xiamen Airlines will inaugurate daily flights between Beijing's Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Doha's Hamad International Airport, with services commencing on October 20, 2023.
In addition to the Beijing route, Xiamen Airlines will also introduce two weekly flights from Xiamen (XMN), the special economic zone of Fujian Sheng province, to Doha, starting on October 31, 2023.
These new routes will connect Doha with PKX (seven times a week) and XMN (twice a week), offering a combined cargo capacity of more than 100 tonnes on both flights. The Beijing to Doha direct services will be operated using Boeing 787-9 aircraft, while the Xiamen-Doha-Xiamen route will utilize Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
According to SVP of Cargo Sales & Network Planning at Qatar Airways Cargo, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "China has always been a key market for us and our customers. We are delighted to be able to offer our clients even more capacity. We will now serve 9 destinations in Mainland China, offering over 2,800 weekly tonnes of cargo capacity. We welcome Xiamen Airlines and look forward to working closely with them."
