Air Canada Cargo Boosts Year-Round Capacity to Key European Markets

Air Canada Cargo is set to provide enhanced belly capacity for critical European routes as the airline extends its passenger services from summer seasonal to year-round operations.

This development ensures that key routes, such as Montreal to Rome, Toronto to Copenhagen, Toronto to Madrid, and the upcoming Air Canada passenger route to Lyon, will remain accessible to customers throughout the winter season.

According to market Info., Matthieu Casey, Managing Director of commercial at Air Canada Cargo, expressed, "We are delighted to offer expanded cargo capacity on widebody routes year-round, giving our customers more choices in vital markets connecting Europe and Canada. The synergy between Air Canada's passenger network's belly capacity and our freighter service will further strengthen our offerings across the Atlantic."

Additionally, Air Canada Cargo will benefit from increased frequencies on routes departing from Toronto or Montreal to destinations including Barcelona, Casablanca, Paris, Lisbon, Athens, Rome, and Edinburgh.

These strategic enhancements come in the wake of a challenging second quarter for Air Canada Cargo, marked by a 24% year-over-year decline in operating revenues.
