China strictly inspects imported frozen food

Fearing that Covid-19 strains may enter China through frozen food imports, China strictly inspects imported frozen food and it caused a heavily delays in refrigerated ports.

According to China health officials & media information, on Wednesday (18 Nov) that two cold chain warehouse workers in the port city of Tianjin had infected Covid-19.

The COVID-19 virus infections that occurred in cities such as Beijing and Dalian in the summer also came from frozen foods.

Some ocean carrier already announced that recently all refrigerated goods destined to Tianjin must be inspected of Covid-19 testing.

Note: Tianjin is main frozen products import port and main cold chain hub in China and a new cold chain infrastructure which is expected to be completed in 2021 Q4.
