Brainstorm - Vaccines supply chains

Everyone is very excited that the Coronavirus vaccine has entered the third to fourth testing stage but the vaccines delivery poses challenges to the supply chain provider including Air capacity and quality control.

Vaccines must be stored at minus 80 degrees Celsius and transported at extremely low temperatures. This is a big challenge compared to the storage temperature of general drug delivery between -10 to 20 degrees.

According to IATA Info. 2020 freighter capacity has increased from 1,500 to 4,000 flights; if 7.8 billion people take one dose per person, 8,000 freight flights are expected.
