AIR Canada has posted a 15% year-on-year decrease in revenues, from CAD4.4 billion (US$3.1 billion) in 2019 Q1 compared with CAD$3.7 billion in the same period of this year. 2020 Q1 revenues down 15pc, EBIT plunge 81pc due to Covid-19

The airline said that due to the impact of the coronavirus, EBIT for the first quarter decreased by 81% year on year from CAD583 million in 2019 to CAD71 million in 2020.
President and chief executive of Air Canada, Calin Rovinescu, said: "The impact was exacerbated during the month of March with mandated social distancing, unprecedented government-imposed travel restrictions in Canada and around the world and the shutting down of economies."
