Ningbo throughput up 22pc through November
NINGBO port has seen cargo volumes rise 22 per cent year-on-year during the first 11 months of the year to 200 million tons, according to the latest statistics released by port authorities.
Xinhua reported that by 2007 cargo volumes handled by the port are expected to reach 250 million tons, while container throughput will hit 7 million TEU in three year's time, citing comments from Li Linghong, the president of the Ningbo Port Group.
He added that this target is achievable through the planned investment of CNY20 billion (US$2.41 billion) in port improvement projects in the years to come.
