The new rules applicable related to the advanced filing of
manifests is now effective from 10th May'04.
In view of this new notification we are required to :-
(A) In the case of vessels where the voyage from the last port of
call exceeds 4 (four ) days, the import manifest shall be filed at least 48
(forty eight ) hours before the entry inward of such vessels. In any other case
the manifest should be filed at least 10 (ten) hours before the entry inward of
vessels.
(B) In the case of long haul flights ( i.e, flight time of at least
3 hours from the last airport), the import manifest shall be filed within 2
(two) hours before the arrival of the aircraft and for short haul flights,
before the arrival of the aircraft.
Failure to do so will lead to consequential penalties. In case the
required information is not recd well in time in order for us to meet this
requirement, we will have no alternative but to debit to the respective origin
office. The penalty for failure to comply with the requirements is $ 1125 (INR
50,000) per shipment.

You are required to follow the below SOP :-
A. AIR SHIPMENTS
1) Origin station must scan us the Consol Manifest immediately
after taking final weight and flight details of the shipment.
2) The Manifest must contain following details:
a) MAWB Number
b) HAWB Number
C) No. of Pcs
d) Commodity
e) Gross Weight / Volume weight
f) Complete flight details (In case of deferred service-Must advise
us complete flight details and not only the final leg).
3) The origin office must ensure that we receive this manifest
minimum 24 (working) hours prior to arrival of flight in India.
4) Incase of cancellation or re-scheduling of flight or any change
in flight number or airline, the origin office must send us a pre-alert
regarding the same.
5) Incase airline is using any transit point, the origin office
must follow up closely with airline to ensure that shipment catches the onwards
flight as per details given in Consol Manifest. Incase of any change in flight
details from transit point, they must follow instructions as
mentioned in (4).
SEA SHIPMENTS
===============
Pl. ensure that the manifests / documents are sent well in advance
in order for us to meet the above requirements. In the case of vessels where
the voyage from the last port of call exceeds 4 (four ) days, the manifest/
documents need to reach us at least 96 hours before the entry inward of such
vessels.
In any other case the manifest & details must reach us at least
48 (forty-eight) hours before the entry inward of vessels.
