Shandong sea ports throughput up 9.2pc in first eight months

THROUGHPUT at sea ports in eastern China's Shandong province totalled to 483 million tonnes from January to August, up 9.2 per cent year on year,

Xinhua reported.

The province's three largest ports of Qingdao, Rizhao and Yantai handled 416 million tonnes, taking up 86 per cent of the provincial total.

The port of Qingdao's throughput increased five per cent to 210 million tonnes. The port of Rizhao's throughput jumped 17.6 per cent to 122 million tonnes.
